This Monday marks the official first day of spring. Finally, right? Although, while we’d love it to, the weather just doesn’t seem to completely flip the switch on this day. So until we can comfortably pack up our winter-wardrobe, we’ll be working these transitional pieces into our everyday wear.
Timeless and effortlessly chic, a trench coat is a staple piece for a gal’s closet. It’s typically lighter than the parkas we’ve all been living in for the past few months, and versatile enough to be thrown over just about anything. I’ve been on the hunt for a new one for a spring, and just picked up this one. The material is so, so soft, and I like that the color is a little different than the typical khaki. I also love the trench coats we’re seeing in more unique colors — like this pink one.
Something about straw and wicker materials just screams warmer weather. Carrying one of these bags makes me want to stroll to the farmers market or pack up an afternoon picnic. I’ve been thinking I need to replace my everyday bag with a straw tote, especially for errands and beach day trips. Currently deciding between with this one and this one.
It looks like this trend is here to stay. Loving the unexpected combination of pairing a fun sneaker with typically more formal pieces — like a structured jacket or full skirt. I just picked up this pair of Brooks in black and white and have been living in them. I also have been majorly eyeing all of the pink pairs I’ve been seeing recently, particularly this pair and this pair (only $35!).
Overalls bring me right back to my childhood and the carefree feeling of playing outside on a warm afternoon. They’re not only comfortable, but extremely versatile — dress them up by layering a ruffle top underneath, or keep it simple with a cotton tee. This classic pair has been on my list for a while, but I also love this distressed pair and this gorgeous green pair.
Feminine and effortless, this is one of my favorite trends this season. Slip one on with a cotton tee for an easy weekend look, pair it with a button down for work, or throw a leather jacket on top to give the girly lines a little edge. I love this cut in skirt or dress form, but have had my eye on this skirt in particular. This leather one and this silky floral one are also calling my name.
Happy Spring shopping! Let us know if you have any transition pieces on your list.
