Growing up, our parent’s generation was all about the dinner party. It’s a treasured tradition, but it needs a little reinventing. And truthfully, I think as a busy 20-something year old, it’s one of the best ways to see friends and genuinely get to visit with them. If done correctly, hosting can also be SO fun.
Don’t get us wrong. We will never pass up a good happy hour, but sometimes, you just need to have your people over and a glass full of wine and plate full of food. Mid week dinner “parties” sometimes are the perfect way to get through the work week blues. And let’s be honest, the less fuss the better. Have someone bring drinks, another person can bring dessert and prep the day before. Get home from work and pop the main meal in the oven and you’re good to go. Coming fresh off an evening of girl time and a delicious feast, I couldn’t be more happy about the simplicity of a modern day dinner party. What are your favorite dishes to put together for an evening of hosting? Tell us in the comments!
