Incase you can’t tell, we’re really into scarves this season. Like, all about them. That’s one of the great things about winter is being able to invest in your essentials and still add a pop of color by layering. This time of year though, it’s easy to get distracted by new trends, holiday party dresses and extra sweaters/scarves/boots/etc. and amazing EOY sales, but we’ve outlined our top three tips to stay focused on only getting what you really need this holiday season.
- Do you have anything similar to the item at home? If the answer is “yes,” keep looking. I can’t tell you how many times we’re distrated by a pretty item or a hot sale, but chances are we don’t need another tan sweater to add to our collection.
- If you don’t totally love it in the store, don’t buy it. This one is important because even if you’re getting the blouse for 50% off, if you aren’t obsessed in the store, it’ll probably sit in your closet untouched or get a few uses.
- Probably the most difficult test…can you imagine two ways to wear the piece with items you already own? We used to get really excited about a shirt or sweater, and then not have anything to wear it with when you get home. If it’s something a little more untraditional, this test is even more important!
Holidays are busy every year, and this season proved to be extra busy for the both of us. I mean how is it almost New Year’s Eve already!? For us, this week is full of quality family time, lots of errands and a little bit of work. What’s keeping you busy this week?
