This last weekend Dylan and I spent our afternoon wine tasting in Woodinville. How I’ve lived in Seattle for this many years and not taken a day to explore the Woodinville wineries, I just don’t know. It could be because it feels far from Seattle (it’s not), or, because there are so many wineries to consider, it feels overwhelming. A solution for that? Seattle Savor’s Wine Passport. For $60 you get 10 tastings, $50 in Lyft credit, and a tool to help you read about each of the wineries and create an itinerary for yourself. It is so easy, and so convenient.
So, needless to say, we had the absolute best introduction to the Woodinville winery experience. It was the perfect, sunny, 75-degree day, and we were able hop between four different wineries and enjoy our tastings outside. We started the day at DeLille Cellars, which has the cutest outdoor patio and an amazing rosé. Then, we walked across the street to Cougar Crest Winery. They specialize in reds (which Dylan loved) and it shows – so good. We then ventured over to Chateau Ste Michelle, a must-see for anyone who hasn’t been. The grounds are stunning and they have an incredible selection of wines. I now have it on my summer to-do list to pack a picnic, buy a bottle from the winery and spend an afternoon out on their lawn. We ended our day at Columbia Winery, another location with an amazing landscape.
Naturally, I’m now hooked. I raved to friends all week about how great of an afternoon it was and how many more wineries I still want to see. So, you know how I’ll be spending my free weekends this summer…let me know if you want to join.
