When we first started blogging, a lot of people would ask us about our shopping habits. It’s kinda a funny question, because at one point in college, we shared a three foot closet with each other and didn’t have a ton of extra room (or budget!) for tons of shopping trips. Obviously since then, our closets have doubled (or maybe even tripled) in size and we aren’t sharing a small closet anymore, but while we both do love shopping, we still are both really passionate about finding beautiful, affordable pieces that we know are going to last at least a few seasons.
Here’s our three tips on finding affordable clothes, regardless of the season:
- Stick to your own budget. Look for inspiration online, in fashion magazines, other blogs, people on the street…and then go to the internet to try to recreate that look for less. Almost always, you’ll find a trend you’re crushing on from a pricey brand available from tons of other companies. Take the opportunity to make the look more of your own.
- Shop local. For us, one of the many great things about living in a big city is the community. We love supporting local businesses, and have found that they often have really reasonable prices. Here in Seattle, a few of our favorites are Shop Rollick, Moorea Seal and Kick It boutique in Ballard.
- Know the brands. Lastly, find a few brands that you know, trust and love so you can go to them regularly for a wardrobe update. If you follow us on Insta, you probably already know a few of our favorite brands. WhoWhatWear Collection at Target is what dreams are made of. Also, Zara, SheIn, Asos, H&M, and Romwe are just a few other brands we’re big fans of. Although sizing is always going to be tricky online, it’s easier to know what will work best for you if you order from the brand regularly.

Love the pink bag! Where did you get it?
Thank you! Actually, I have the best roommate — and she let me borrow it! 😉
