There’s no place like home, and every holiday season, I’m reminded of that all over again. This year, I was able to take a week off work and flew down to Southern California for ten full days. My family has so many traditions during the holiday season that go all the way back to being a young kid, but a new family tradition we started a few years ago was to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Big Bear, CA (just 90 miles from my hometown.) There’s nothing better than a white Christmas in the mountains! We went skiing, ate amazing food, played games (liar’s dice, anyone!?) and had the best time.
The rest of the time was spent back in Newport and Irvine with friends and family. There were a few 80 degree beach days, morning workouts and so much relaxing. What more could you ask for?
Haley was also able to take a few days off and spend time with her family relaxing, playing games and exploring a new part of Washington…Whidbey Island! We’re both so grateful to have enjoyed time with the people we love most, and left feeling so recharged.
Hope you all had an amazing, relaxing time with your friends and family! Now that we’ve had a week or two off, we are so ready to make 2017 the best year yet.
