Is it just us, or is this time of year so dang busy? I feel like prep for summer might actually be busier than summertime. We’ve had a couple back to back trips, I am house planning (seriously, I feel like this will be my life for the next year!) and just started a new job. Woooo! All good things…but that means that it’s somehow May 1 and Mother’s Day is right around the corner.
If you haven’t planned anything (sorry, moms!) to honor your mama for next weekend, we’ve put together a few last-minute and affordable ways to show your mom you care. Whether she’s a foodie, a fitness fanatic, or a stay at home and relax type of mom, here are four activities you can quickly and easily put together for a memorable day together.
- Pour her a glass or two and whip up her favorite meal: Anyone else absolutely love that time on a Sunday where you take hours to make dinner, hanging out with good music and just chatting the afternoon away? Make mom’s favorite meal and spend the afternoon cooking for her.
- Spa day at home: OK, sure…mom definitely wouldn’t mind if you booked a spa appointment for two and spent the day at the spa. But a spa day at home is the next best thing, and it can drastically cut down on her commute time! 😉 Get a face mask, a beautiful robe and bath salts for the ultimate spa day at home.
- Get outside and hike: For most of us, weather is finally starting to turn and few family activities are as fun as a family hike. Pick some take out up on your way home and end the night with a fam game night.
- The gift of a clean home: We always joke that we didn’t realize how much work it took to keep a house clean until we had a place of our own. It’s exhausting! Give mom a special thank you by cleaning and do a deep clean so she doesn’t have to.
