We love hosting during the holidays. Whether that be white elephant gift exchanges with friends from college, a bestie holiday celebration or just having girlfriends over for a festive dinner, it’s fun to dress up your table a little more than usual, especially this time of year. This holiday season, we turned to Value Village for budget-friendly dining room essentials.
We were so excited about the options at the Value Village in Ballard that we decided to do two different tablescapes. Everything on the table (except for the plants and candle) are from Value Village, including the tablecloths, vases, cups, etc. For both, we opted for some greenery and pinecones we had laying around (we’re both big fans of pinecones as decor for the holidays) to add to the centerpieces.
Festive Red and Gold
For our first theme, we opted for a red and gold theme. There’s something so magical about beautiful glass and holiday colors. To instantly add a little class to your table, opt for cloth napkins instead of paper. We used ribbon and a little greenery underneath to add a little extra something to the utensils. For this layout, we used gold rimmed plates with a salad plate on top, and gold wine glasses with matching tea/coffee mugs. The centerpiece was all about glass…don’t be afraid to keep it simple if there’s a feature piece! For us, we used this big glass bowl and kept it empty, because it’s just too beautiful not to be displayed.
Cool Blue and Silver
Ashley has a ton of silver in her home, so a cooler tablescape with tones of blue (and hints of red, of course) work really well. For this layout, we opted for a gorgeous dinner plate and matching soup bowl, with pretty blue drinking cups. We had two focal points in this tablescape, with one being the silver bowl with a white and green bouquet and then a bigger blue vase. Also, don’t be afraid to play with dimension and heights! We reworked the dessert tray to be used as another focal point, and raised the pinecones just a tad.
Thank you to Value Village for partnering with us on these beautiful tablescapes!
