This last weekend I attended The Collective Runway show at the Bellevue Collection. Held at the Hyatt Regency, it was nothing short of fabulous. While the evening was full of fall fashion inspiration, there were a few specific trends that stood out.
Layered neutrals
This is a look that I’m sure we’re going to be seeing (and wearing) a lot of in the coming months. With so many gorgeous sweaters and coats to choose from, why not layer and wear them all at once? The trick to keeping the look subtle and chic: stick to varying shades of the same color for the whole ensemble.
Animal print
It’s no secret that animal print is having a major moment right now. But it’s also showing up in unexpected pieces and new prints. I knew I needed to add a good pair of (faux) snakeskin booties to my closet this fall, but I may be picking up a skirt in the print as well…
When it comes to color…more is more
I was a little surprised (and excited) to see so much color on the runway this season. Not only were there statement pieces in bold colors, but they were paired with bright accessories and topped with punchy layers. I am more than ready to pick up a few stand-out pieces to add to my fall wardrobe and brighten things up a little in the coming grey months.
Fall floral
Are florals for fall groundbreaking? Regardless, I was happy to see the print making a recurring appearance throughout the show. I love the idea of taking this feminine pattern that is most often worn in the spring and summer, and pairing it with chunkier accessories for the cooler months.
